Last Thursday we tried something unique... and I've been meaning to blog about it.  Tom--our bass player was in Buffalo all last week with work so he wasn't going to be able to make it to practice.

So we made arrangements to practice with him over the internet.  We used a laptop with a wireless internet connection in the Mosaic Cafe.  The microphone built into the computer is a omni-directional mic so it record sound coming from any direction.  We also hooked the laptop up to our sound system so we could hear Tom in our PA.  There was a bit of a delay so we couldn't pump his bass back through our system but Tom could play along with us perfectly hearing every detail.

What a great use of technology to overcome everyday challenges in ministry.  I'm glad Tom thought of it.
