Wow, what a Sunday! This open house is off to a great start. There were so many new visitors. I love seeing people come to Blessed Hope for the first time! The worship was especially spirit-filled and we had a huge team. There were 8 of us leading worship. The sound team did an excellent job. I think that's the best sound mix we've ever had. The sermon was awesome, everyone came early and did their part to pull this off. God was moving in a big way. The energy was crazy. We got some great feedback from the service and many people are planning to attend our new small groups.
After the service we had a young adult corn maze event at Zarpentine Farms. We split into two teams and walked over 6 miles in search of pipe cleaners--10 of them, each a different color and hidden somewhere in the 20 acres of corn. Both teams managed to find all 10 and got our pictures taken for the hall of fame. I won't mention that we got a few hints from the corn cops... The corn cops were a little mysterious. Every time you walked around a corner, they were RIGHT THERE. Afterwards, we had cider and fried cakes. Actually, I had a cheese covered cinnamon roll and half of a fried cake. It was a great event, there were 11 of us who attended.
I can't wait until weekend 2 of the open house!
