Valentine's Day is great isn't it? I'm really looking forward to Valentine's day as I plan some special surprises for my wife.
But I don't think I started liking Valentine's Day until I met Jen. Prior to that, Valentine's Day was another reminder that I was single. Valentine's Day can be difficult for singles. Maybe it's a reminder of a relationship that didn't work out or a frustration for not being able to find "the one." Trust me, I remember how difficult it can be when it feels like everyone has found that special person but you.
I want to give a few words of encouragement to singles. First, God has a plan for you. Don't let satan convince you that there's something wrong with you because you're single. Finding the right person can be very difficult--especially when you're trying to find someone who's truly a Christian. Don't be frustrated, no one said it was easy. Be proactive. Write your future spouse a love letter and store it away until you're married. Teach yourself how to cook a special meal that you can someday make for your future spouse (I taught myself how to make chicken french on Valentine's Day two years before I met Jen). And lastly, remember that Jesus Christ is the true love of our lives and he comes before family and marriage. Make him the desire of your heart!
