We had a great time camping in the Adirondacks last week! It was Jordyn's first camping trip and she loved it. Before we left, someone called me a risk taker for bringing a baby camping. Little did he know, we also planning on climbing a mountain with her.
The photo above is on the summit of Mt. Jo in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. I read some review of this particular mountain which made it sound pretty easy. However, it was a lot more difficult than they made it out to be. I was only about 15 seconds into the climb that I realized that this wasn't going to be a walk up a hill!
The most difficult part was when we got near the summit and we had to actually do some rock climbing. I happen to be somewhat experienced at rock climbing but not with a baby! At one point I strategically wedged myself between a rock and a tree, climbed up the tree and then over across onto the rock.
It was all worthwhile though! Behind us in this picture are the very tallest mountains in the Adirondacks. Mount Marcy is on the far left (tallest point in NY) and Algonquin Peak is on the right (second highest point in the Adirondacks). You can see God's fingerprints everywhere!
For the most part, Jordyn was great. She said "Hi' to the other hikers and clapped her hands. She only cried when we were going too slow!

What a big Adirondack chair!
