James 1:27
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
Hi Friends,
The above scripture says it all! Our God is a God of love and to love Him means to let His love flow through us to others, especially defenseless people like orphans and widows!
I look at my five month old healthy granddaughter and I thank God for her! I thank God she has parents and grandparents to love and care for her. She's so completely dependent on others to keep her safe. It just makes you see the sanctity and preciousness of life when you look at a little baby!
But then I think about the over 34 million orphaned children in Africa and my eyes well up with tears! 34 million children, who through no fault of their own have absoltuely no one to care for them! On top of that, one third of these children are orphaned by AIDS.
This is a horrific crisis that we (who have so much) cannot sit idly by and do nothing to help! I truly think it could be a sin of omission to do nothing when the need is so great!
These are babies and little children that are helpless! Many of these babies have been found in garbage dumps because the parents can't take care of them. If this doesn't break our hearts, then there's something seriously wrong with our hearts!
Blessed Hope CC CARES about these babies and kids and I am convinced it is God Himself who has orchestrated our upcoming fundraiser for the Rehema Home Orphanage as His means to be the Body of Christ and help these abandoned children! He is a father to the fatherless!
Friends, we need your help to make this event the huge success that I know God desires for it to be for HIS children!
Here's how you can do YOUR PART for our upcoming Benefit concert on May 20 to help these orphans:
1.) Buy an advance ticket for $10.00 right away! You can buy one at church, go online at
ROC4Kids and buy or go to
Alpha and Omega Christian Bookstores in Penfield or Greece. You will receive a wristband that says MERCY on it.
Remember, Rehema means mercy!
Hosea 6:6
"For I desire mercy, not sacrifice."
Matthew 12:7
"If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent."
2.) Also, please sign-out 10-20 bracelets at church on Sunday and sell them to your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers! You can also pick these up from the office. Even if someone can't come to the concert, they would likely give a $10.00 donation to help orphans. (It's all tax deductible and 100% of the money goes directly to the Rehema Home. People can also write checks to Rehema Home.
3.) Prayerfully consider buying a few tickets and giving them away to your family and friends or ask them to do the same.
4.) Pray, pray, pray for the orphans and for this event!
5.) Sign up to be a volunteer at the event!!! We need at least 25 more people to help so either sign up at church or respond to this email to let me know you are committed to being a volunteer. All volunteers must meet at the Mosaic Cafe at 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 15 for a brief (but IMPORTANT) meeting! Please sign up soon as we are striving to fulfill our quota!
6.) Help us get the word out! Get a buzz going about it! Share your excitement for the event with everyone you know. Hang up a 8.5 X 11 poster anywhere you can think! Respond to this email and I'll send you a pdf to print out! Go to our
Facebook event page and use the 'invite button' to invite all your facebook friends! Talk it up people! We need your help on this!
7.) Consider making a one-time larger donation to Rehema Home or becoming a sponsor for one of the kids. Check out their website at
Rehema Home Orphanage!
8.) Do an email blast to your friends and family! You can forward this email or have me forward you a pdf of the poster.
9.) Don't do it because I asked you too, DO IT FOR JESUS! DO IT FOR THE SAKE OF THE INNOCENT CHILDREN WHO NEED YOUR HELP!
Remember this scripture:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you took me in.”
Matthew 25:35 (New International Version)
By doing the above things, you will be putting food in the mouth of Jesus! You will be quenching the thirst of Jesus and you will be inviting Jesus in AND He will remember all you have done when judgment day arrives!
I am so excited and pray you all are too!
